The Świdnica Commune, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in the Świdnica County, surrounds the city of Świdnica and has over 17,000 inhabitants. Its area is 20,828 hectares, making it a large commune in the region. The commune borders the communes of Marcinowice, Dzierżoniów, Pieszyce, and Walim, as well as the cities of Wałbrzych and Jaworzyna Śląska. The Bystrzyca River, which separates the Owl Mountains and the Wałbrzyskie Mountains, flows through the northern part of the commune. The commune belongs to the Sudeten Foothills region, characterized by a hilly and mountainous landscape, with extensive agricultural areas in the lowlands. Nature conservation in the commune includes the Jeziorko Daisy Nature Reserve, which protects unique Upper Devonian fossil remains. The commune is also home to numerous architectural monuments, such as old churches and rural buildings. It is known for its cultural traditions, which are nurtured in numerous villages, such as Gogołów or Krzczonów. Residents actively participate in local events, fostering social integration. An interesting fact is the region's biodiversity, including the beautiful landscape parks of Książ and the Ślęża Massif, which attract tourists. The average annual temperature ranges from 0.8 to 8.7 °C, with July being the warmest month and January the coldest.
