Świerzawa is an urban-rural municipality located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, within the Złotoryja County. Its seat is the town of Świerzawa, which, like the entire municipality, boasts a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Jelenia Góra Voivodeship. In 2004, the municipality had 7,890 inhabitants, and according to data from 2019, this number decreased to 7,503. Characteristic elements of the local architecture include historic churches and traditional rural houses. An interesting feature is the Buczyna Storczykowa na Białych Skałach nature reserve, which protects fertile Sudeten beech forests and thermophilic orchid beech forests, serving as a habitat for rare species of plants and animals. The municipality borders areas such as Bolków, Janowice Wielkie, and Złotoryja, which fosters the development of tourism and local culture. Numerous village districts, including Biegoszów, Dobków, and Gozdno, create a diverse cultural mosaic. Świerzawa is a place with great potential for both tourists and residents, offering rich natural resources, culture, and history.
