Athena Military Museum

The Athena Museum of Military History in Skwierzyna, founded in 2012 by Agnieszka Kuś, is a unique venue showcasing historical military exhibits. Located on the premises of the company Anhol Pomoc Drogowa, the museum combines educational, cultural, and tourist functions. Its rich collection includes numerous operational military vehicles and hundreds of other militaria-related exhibits, such as historical vehicle parts, uniforms, and equipment items. The museum collaborates with the Lubusz Operational and Technical Unit, reflecting its commitment to local community engagement and the preservation of military traditions. Among the exhibits are rare machines, such as the British FV433 Abbot self-propelled field gun—the only operational example in Poland. Other notable exhibits include Soviet BRDM-2 armored reconnaissance vehicles, 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers, and the 2K11 Krug surface-to-air missile system. The museum attracts military history enthusiasts as well as families with children, offering insights into military technology from World War II to the present day. The diversity of exhibits, including original tank crew helmets and a Su-22 fighter-bomber aircraft, allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding not only of the military but also of the impact of militaria on the region's history and culture. As an important point on Skwierzyna's tourist map, the museum cultivates the memory of the military past and offers visitors a closer look at the nuances of military development.
