The Bismarck Tower on Wieżyca, also known as Bismarckturm Zobten, is one of the 172 preserved Bismarck Towers in the world. It stands 15 meters high and consists of 60 steps. The structure was built using granite sourced from Ślęża Mountain and was originally equipped with a fire bowl at its summit, which no longer exists today. The construction cost amounted to 40,000 marks.
The tower was initiated by the Wrocław Student Association and designed by Wilhelm Kreis. The cornerstone was laid on May 13, 1906, and the grand opening took place on June 21, 1907, when it was handed over to the authorities of Sobótka by the Academic Gymnastics Association Suevia.
Not only is the Bismarck Tower an interesting tourist attraction, but it also holds significant cultural value, drawing numerous visitors. In 1992, it was renovated thanks to the initiative of the residents of Sobótka, ensuring the preservation of this architectural monument and its history. Today, the tower is open to the public, making it an important landmark in the region and a testament to local traditions and history.
