wikipedia
Boronów is a village in the Silesian Voivodeship, located in the Lubliniec County, on the Liswarta River, with a history dating back to at least the 14th century. The name of the locality may derive from the word "bór" (forest), which refers to the surrounding woodlands. The village has a rich history, with the first documented mention dating back to 1341, when Boronów belonged to the Duchy of Opole and Strzelce. In 1611, a wooden church dedicated to St. Andrew was built in the village, which is now a Class "0" historical monument. In the 19th century, Boronów underwent industrialization, developing iron ore production, forges, and other industrial plants. After World War I, Boronów was incorporated into Poland, and in the 20th century, it continued to develop as a locality with strong agricultural and industrial traditions. During the Polish People's Republic, changes included the collectivization of farms and transformations in local infrastructure, such as the construction of a school and the development of such facilities. Boronów is also a place rich in culture, with various cultural initiatives standing out, such as music reviews and local festivals. The village is home to the Municipal Cultural Center, which organizes cultural events, discos, and concerts. In recent years, new residents have been arriving, mainly from the cities of Upper Silesia, and holiday homes have been developing. Boronów also features numerous natural monuments, including oak trees, which bear witness to the local fauna and flora. The famous legend of the "utopiec" (a water spirit) attracts tourists and those interested in local stories. The village enjoys good transportation links thanks to railway and bus lines, providing easy access to nearby cities.
