Brody is an urban-rural municipality located in the Lubusz Voivodeship, within the Żary County, with its administrative seat in the town of Brody. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the former Zielona Góra Voivodeship. It covers an area of 240.36 km², of which 64% is forested land and 26% is agricultural land. According to data from June 30, 2004, the municipality had a population of 3,482. The area is home to several nature reserves, including part of the Uroczysko Węglińskie Nature Reserve, which protects old-growth forest, and the Żurawno Reserve, safeguarding a lowland ecosystem with rare species of plants and animals. The culture and history of the municipality are closely tied to its rich natural heritage and local traditions.
