wikipedia
The Church of St. George in Jurovce is a historic Greek Catholic parish church from 1873, located in the Sanok municipality. Built with funds from local residents and the manor, the church features a post-and-beam structure and a tripartite spatial layout, originally with a narthex and a rectangular presbytery. An interesting architectural element is the attached masonry screen-type bell tower from 1905, as well as the side chapels from 1924 and 1926. The interior decorations of the church include polychrome paintings with geometric and ornamental motifs, as well as figural compositions in the domes, although many decorative elements have been lost. In 1946, the church was handed over to the Roman Catholic Church and now serves as the parish church of St. Peter and Paul. Over the years, the building has undergone a series of renovations, including significant work in 2014, which changed its external appearance by replacing the roof structures and covering the roof with copper sheet. The church was listed as a historic monument in 1996 and was also included in the Subcarpathian Wooden Architecture Trail. It is worth noting that the remains of the surviving side altar with icons add cultural and historical value to the site, making it an important point not only on the sacred map but also in the context of the region's cultural heritage.
