Over the past thirty years, the commune has been governed by mayors, including Piotr Mazur and Mariusz Szmyd, who, following tragic events, handed over power to Anna Hałas, the first woman to hold this position. In 2014, Hałas was re-elected as mayor. The commune comprises numerous villages, including Bykowce, Dębna, Falejówka, and Tyrawa Solna.
