Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Piotrów

The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Piotrowo is a half-timbered temple built in 1839 for local Protestants, located in the Obrzycko municipality in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. From an architectural perspective, it is a single-nave structure featuring a quadrangular tower with an onion-shaped spire, which adjoins the church from the southeast. The entrance to the temple leads through this tower, giving the place a unique character. The church's roof, a gable type with a hipped end, is covered with tiles, which is typical of regional architecture. Next to the church stands a section of an old linden tree avenue, adding charm to the site and reflecting its historical context. Culturally, the church played an important role in the Protestant community until 1945, when it became a branch of the parish in Obrzycko, highlighting its significance in the region's religious history. An interesting fact is that the preserved half-timbered construction style is rarely found in modern religious buildings, making this temple a unique example of local architectural tradition.
