wikipedia
The Parish Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Niekrasów is a wooden 17th-century temple with a rich history and architecture. The first church in Niekrasów was established around 1121, and after its destruction by the Calvinists, a new church was built in 1661 and consecrated by Bishop Zygmunt Czyżewski. The current church, constructed from larch wood, features a tall, steep structure with a shingle roof and is an example of traditional wooden architecture. The interior is adorned with polychrome paintings, and the church also houses valuable altars, including the main one dedicated to the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The church is part of several tourist and pilgrimage routes, highlighting its cultural significance. Nearby, there is a historic bell tower and a monument honoring soldiers. An added value are the annual fairs and pilgrimages associated with the cult of Our Lady of Niekrasów, whose image attracts the faithful. The parish cemetery, located 200 meters from the church, is a historical site bearing traces of the former Reformation and Catholicism. The church and its surroundings are recognized as elements of Poland's cultural heritage and are listed in the register of monuments. Interestingly, before the cemetery was relocated, the church square served this function for 171 years, underscoring the historical importance of this place.
