Chynów is a rural municipality located in the central part of the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Grójec County. Its administrative seat is the town of Chynów. The municipality, formed by the merger of the former municipalities of Drwalew and Rososz, covers an area of 137.07 km², which constitutes 9.91% of the county's area, and according to data from June 30, 2004, it is inhabited by 9,393 people. The municipality is surrounded by the municipalities of Prażmów, Góra Kalwaria, Jasieniec, Warka, and Grójec. Agricultural land dominates the area of the municipality, occupying 80.8% of the surface, and agriculture is the main economic function of the region. Chynów and its surroundings are famous for orchard cultivation, especially in the Grójec-Warka area, where the plantation area amounts to about 2,540 hectares. The municipality includes many villages, such as Chynów, Drwalew, Krężel, and Sułkowice. The infrastructure of the municipality includes a convenient road network, including national road No. 50 and the railway line connecting Warsaw-Radom-Kielce-Kraków with stops in Chynów, Krężel, and Sułkowice. In terms of water supply, about 80% of the residents use the water supply network, and the municipality has a biological-mechanical sewage treatment plant. An interesting architectural aspect of the municipality are its monuments, including the oldest larch church in Masovia in Chynów from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, the parish church complex and the palace-park complex from the 18th and 19th centuries in Drwalew, as well as the manor-park complex in Budziszyn. Additionally, the English-style park in Żyrów complements the architectural values of the region. An interesting fact is the large number of farms, most of which have an area of 2 to 5 hectares, reflecting the agricultural character of the municipality. The culture of the municipality consists of agricultural and orchard traditions, which is reflected in its society. The Chynów Municipality, with its rich history and beautiful architecture, is an important part of the Masovian region.
