The Edward Jancarz Stadium in Gorzów Wielkopolski, located on Kwiatowa Street, is a key sports facility, primarily known for hosting speedway events. Built in 1949 on the site of a former landfill, it was officially opened as a speedway stadium on July 22, 1951. The initiative for its construction came from a club mechanic, and the work was carried out as a community effort. The stadium, regarded as a cornerstone of Gorzów's sporting tradition, was renamed in 1997 in honor of the legendary speedway rider Edward Jancarz.
The stadium has undergone several upgrades, including a major renovation between 2007 and 2011, which significantly improved spectator comfort and increased its capacity to 15,024 seats. The facility now features modern lighting, surveillance systems, and multimedia elements, including large screens. A notable attraction is the "Walk of Fame," where plaques with handprints of prominent speedway riders are displayed, highlighting the stadium’s cultural significance and rich history.
The stadium’s structure is oval-shaped with a distinctive roof, and its stands are colored in the hues associated with the local club, Stal Gorzów Wielkopolski, reinforcing the identity of the local fan community.
