Fort W VIII "Łętownia" is a single-rampart artillery fort forming part of the Przemyśl Fortress, located in the village of Kuńkowce. Built between 1880 and 1887 according to a design by Anton Werner, the fort features a concrete-brick-earth construction. Between 1892 and 1900, the fort underwent further modernization, becoming a centralized fort with an armored core. Its historical significance is linked to the Second Siege of Przemyśl Fortress in 1915, when combat operations led to the destruction of the caponiers in the moat. The fort suffered further degradation and was partially dismantled between 1920 and 1930. Architecturally, the fort showcases unique features of military engineering from the period of its construction, and its history fits into the broader context of the region's defense and the events of World War I. This site also has its curiosities – it is a witness to the turbulent history of Przemyśl and is strongly associated with the presence of the Austro-Hungarian Army in the area. Today, the fort is part of the local cultural heritage, and its remains attract both historians and military enthusiasts.
