wikipedia
The Town Hall in Górowo Iławeckie is a historic building located in the city's market square, distinguished by its rich architectural history. Originally a Gothic structure from the 14th century, it underwent significant modifications after 1655 and during the years 1846–1847, which played a key role in shaping its current appearance. The town hall has a rectangular shape, is two stories high, and is built of masonry, with a functional attic situated above the high cellars. The building is covered with a ceramic gable roof featuring distinctive gable ends, giving it an elegant look. Particularly eye-catching is the turret with four clock faces, framed by pilasters, topped with an interesting metal balustrade and a sheet metal canopy that forms an original arcade supported by columns. At the center of the roof, there is a conical spire. Today, the town hall serves as the seat of the City and Municipality Office, highlighting its importance as the center of social and administrative life in the city. The rich history of the town hall, its unique architecture, and its functionality make it a valuable monument not only for the local community but also for tourists visiting the Warmian-Masurian region.
