Gorzów Śląski is an urban-rural municipality located in the Opole Voivodeship, within Olesno County. The seat of the municipality is the town of Gorzów Śląski, which between 1975 and 1998 belonged to the Częstochowa Voivodeship. The municipality covers an area of 154.12 km², of which 71% is agricultural land and 22% is forest land, indicating a significant presence of nature in the local landscape. The municipality comprises 15.83% of the total area of Olesno County. In 2006, the municipality was inhabited by 7,693 people, and by the end of 2019, the population had decreased to 7,131. In Gorzów Śląski and its associated villages, such as Budzów, Dębina, Goła, and Zdziechowice, numerous architectural elements related to the region's history and cultural traditions can be found, which are nurtured by the local communities. The surrounding nature and proximity to forests create excellent conditions for recreation and outdoor activities. Neighboring municipalities include Byczyna, Kluczbork, Łubnice, Olesno, Praszka, Radłów, and Skomlin, fostering regional cooperation and joint cultural initiatives. Despite its small size, Gorzów Śląski holds local significance both economically and socially, fostering strong bonds among its residents.
