Grobia is a picturesque administrative village located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, in the municipality of Sieraków, by Lake Jaroszewskie and Lake Lutomskie, situated within the Sierakowski Landscape Park. The village's architecture is dominated by well-maintained, dispersed single-family homes, and the locality is divided into three parts: Grobia Centrum with compact buildings, Jaroszewo, a tourist attraction with holiday resorts, and Sprzeczno, home to Góra Głazów, a viewpoint. Grobia boasts a rich history dating back to prehistoric times, with burial grounds from the Bronze Age. The village was first mentioned in documents in the 15th century as "Grobia," and in subsequent centuries, it was an area inhabited by the nobility. During the Napoleonic Wars, battles took place nearby, and local graves are reinterpreted as burial sites for Polish and Lithuanian soldiers. Grobia features valuable historical buildings, including a former school from the early 20th century and a 19th-century brickyard. The village's culture is distinguished by local associations such as the Volunteer Fire Department and the Rural Housewives' Circle, and one of the traditions is the annual May Day celebrations, which attract both residents and visitors. Grobia is also a tourist-friendly village with a rich offering of active recreation on hiking and cycling trails. The modern village, with a developed service sector and agritourism farms, preserves its traditions while promoting the natural and cultural values of the region.
