Grudziądz is a rural municipality in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, located within the Grudziądz County. It covers 22.92% of the county's area, with a total area of 166.93 km², of which 64% is agricultural land and 21% is forested. The municipality has a population of 12,544 (2018) and its administrative seat is in the city of Grudziądz. The municipality is home to the Grudziądz-Lisie Kąty airport and a private helicopter landing site. Architecturally, the municipality boasts numerous historical monuments, including the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1641 in Mokre and the Church of St. Nicholas from 1742 in Szynych. The fort complex of Wielka Księża Góra from 1890–1914 in Wielkie Lniska is another example of historical architecture. The municipality is also rich in manor parks from the 19th and 20th centuries. In terms of transportation, the area is well-connected via national roads and international cycling routes. Education in the municipality includes 8 primary schools and 2 kindergartens. An interesting fact is that the municipality has the only railway stop on line no. 207 in Wałdowo Szlacheckie and, since 2022, it has been served by 21 bus lines operated by IREX-TRANS. The village administrations (sołectwa) of Mokre, Wałdowo Szlacheckie, and Węgrowo offer local attractions and rich traditions. The municipality borders several neighboring municipalities, fostering regional connections.
