The Iława – Wschód Deanery is one of the 20 deaneries in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Elbląg, consisting of six parishes: the Parish of the Holy Trinity in Frednowy, Christ the King of the Universe, the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Transfiguration of the Lord, St. Andrew Bobola, and Our Lady Queen of Poland in Rudzienice. Iława, which is home to four of the deanery's six parishes, is a city with a rich history and unique architectural features, including historic churches that attract both the faithful and tourists. The region's culture is closely tied to Catholic traditions, reflected in numerous religious and social events organized by the parishes. Among the cultural attractions of the region are local festivals, fairs, and various thematic gatherings that bring the community together. Historically, the area was known for the activities of religious orders, which influenced the development of local architecture and traditions. An interesting fact is that the deanery borders five other deaneries, including Grunwald and Miłomłyn, fostering inter-parish cooperation and cultural exchange between the regions. Iława is also known for its numerous lakes, which promote recreation and tourism, serving as an important element of local identity.
