wikipedia
The Jarosław Orsetti House Museum is a local government cultural institution of the Jarosław County, established on December 13, 1925. Its headquarters, the Renaissance Orsetti House, is one of the key monuments of bourgeois architecture in Jarosław. The museum commemorates the 550th anniversary of the town's foundation under Magdeburg Law. In its early years, it was located in the Jarosław Town Hall and the Attavanti House before being permanently moved to the Orsetti House in 1945. The museum collects, stores, and conserves artifacts related to the history of Jarosław and the region. Its collections include various thematic departments such as archaeology, paleontology, ethnography, militaria, numismatics, and art. One of the most valuable exhibits is the Icon of the Jarosław Mother of God, known as the Gate of Mercy, which holds significant religious and cultural importance. The museum's permanent exhibition features stylized bourgeois interiors from the 17th to the early 20th century, including the Great Hall with its original floor and ceiling. The museum has been managed by several directors, including Jan Harlender and Łukasz Zagrobelny. An interesting fact is that the Orsetti House was owned by Wilhelm Orsetti, its most famous owner. The museum also has a branch in Zarzecze, which houses the Dzieduszycki Museum. The culture and history of Jarosław are prominently highlighted through its rich collections and organized exhibitions, attracting numerous visitors.
