Wiązownica is a rural municipality located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the Jarosław County, with its administrative seat situated in the village of the same name. The municipality covers an area of 243.86 km², of which nearly 45% is agricultural land and 48% is forested. In 2004, Wiązownica had a population of 10,975, which increased to 11,715 by the end of 2019. The municipality is a significant part of the county, accounting for 23.7% of its total area. Historically, Wiązownica witnessed tragic events during World War II; on April 17, 1945, it suffered a brutal attack by Ukrainian partisans, resulting in the deaths of 91 residents and the destruction of numerous homesteads. Culturally, the municipality is diverse, with numerous villages such as Cetula, Manasterz, Radawa, and Ryszkowa Wola, enriching its cultural heritage. Wiązownica, with its many traditions and local customs, is an important point on the regional map, blending history with the daily lives of its inhabitants.
