Jaworze, also known as Ernsdorf, is a picturesque village located in the Silesian Voivodeship, within Bielsko County, in the region of Cieszyn Silesia. It covers an area of 21.32 km² and has a population of 7,299, resulting in a population density of 342.4 people per km². Jaworze boasts a rich history dating back to prehistoric times, with settlements traced to around 9,000 BCE, and medieval roots, as the village was first mentioned in a document by the Bishop of Wrocław in 1305. Architecturally, it is distinguished by an 18th-century palace with a large park, an Evangelical church from 1782, and a Catholic church dedicated to the Divine Providence, built between 1800 and 1802. Other notable landmarks include a gloriette from 1798 on Goruszka Hill.
The cultural life of Jaworze thrives thanks to the Municipality Promotion Center, which organizes a variety of cultural and artistic events. The village is also known for its vibrant socio-cultural activities, supported by the Regional Ensemble "Jaworze" and the Brass Band "Glorietta." Additionally, Jaworze is home to the Museum of Marine and Inland Fauna and Flora, which showcases extensive collections related to aquatic ecosystems. Sports play a significant role here, with football and archery clubs achieving success in regional leagues.
Once a health resort, Jaworze still retains its rights to therapeutic traditions, and its beautiful surroundings make it ideal for tourism, offering numerous cycling and hiking trails. The village is well-served by various transport lines, making it easily accessible for both tourists and residents. An interesting fact is that Jaworze has hosted visits by many notable figures, such as Maria Dąbrowska, Jan Karłowicz, and Jerzy Zawieyski.
