wikipedia
The municipality of Kłodawa, located in the Lubusz Voivodeship, is an area rich in history and diverse architecture. Established in March 1945, it held significant military and defensive importance during the Middle Ages as part of the defensive system along the Noteć and Warta rivers. After World War II, the municipality underwent various administrative changes, eventually becoming a self-governing unit in 1990. The municipality includes several localities, such as Kłodawa, Różanki, Mironice, and Santok. The architecture of the municipality showcases a variety of styles, with the most notable landmarks being the churches in Wojcieszyce, Santoczno, and Różanki, which attract attention for their history and form. In Wojcieszyce, there is a 13th-century church with a Baroque tower, while the church in Santoczno, built in 1767, was adapted from a storage building. The cultural life of the municipality is supported by the Gminne Centrum Kultury (Municipal Culture Center) in Kłodawa, which serves as an educational and cultural hub, offering a library and spaces for cultural and artistic events. The municipality is known for its vibrant social life, deeply rooted in local traditions and events such as the Kłodawska Majówka (Kłodawa Spring Festival) and the municipal harvest festival. The Barlinecko-Gorzowski Landscape Park, located within the municipality, is an excellent destination for active recreation, featuring numerous hiking and cycling trails, as well as opportunities for swimming in the lakes. As a "bedroom community" for Gorzów Wielkopolski, Kłodawa attracts residents seeking the tranquility of rural life combined with proximity to the city. Additionally, the municipality engages in international cooperation with Amt Seelow-Land in Germany, fostering cultural exchange and supporting the development of local infrastructure. Another interesting aspect is the presence of numerous volunteer fire departments and growing sports clubs, which actively involve the local community in a variety of activities.
