Nestled picturesquely in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Kamienna Góra stands out with its rich history and diverse cultural and architectural attractions. The city, which had a population of 17,376 in 2023, is an important industrial, commercial, and cultural center in the region. Architecturally, notable landmarks include historic churches such as the Gothic Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and the Baroque Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, built by Protestants. Among the city's monuments are also the Neo-Renaissance town hall from 1905 and the 15th-century city walls. The city is home to the Museum of Weaving, which offers a rich array of exhibitions promoting local traditions and the history of weaving, as well as organizing artistic events like the "Fiber Art" exhibition. In the cultural sphere, the Cultural Center is actively involved, organizing various events and activities for residents. Kamienna Góra also has a public library and a senior club. Residents have access to numerous sports clubs, including MKS Sudety Kamienna Góra (volleyball) and Kamiennogórski Klub Sportowy Olimpia (soccer). The city's history, dating back to the 13th century, is highlighted by Grodztwo Castle, which once served a defensive role. It is worth noting that Kamienna Góra was also the site of significant historical events, such as the concentration of Prussian-Russian troops in 1813 and wartime production for the military industry during World War II. Modern-day Kamienna Góra is also a service and commercial hub, with numerous supermarkets and businesses. An interesting fact is the introduction of free public transportation in 2019. The city also maintains international partnerships with towns such as Trutnov and Vierzon, though in 2022 it ended its cooperation with Ivangorod due to the situation in Ukraine. With its rich past and dynamically evolving culture, Kamienna Góra is an important point on the tourist map of Lower Silesia.
