Kolbuszowa is an urban-rural municipality located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the Kolbuszowa County, with its administrative seat in the town of Kolbuszowa. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Rzeszów Voivodeship. As of December 31, 2017, the municipality had a population of 24,796. It covers an area of 170.59 km², of which 68% is agricultural land and 22% is forested. The Kolbuszowa Municipality constitutes 22.04% of the total area of Kolbuszowa County. The demographic structure of the municipality shows diverse age groups, and as of June 30, 2004, there is noticeable variation in the age pyramid of its inhabitants. The municipality is divided into one town (Kolbuszowa) and several villages, such as Bukowiec, Domatków, Kolbuszowa Dolna, Kolbuszowa Górna, and others. Neighboring municipalities include Cmolas, Dzikowiec, Głogów Małopolski, Niwiska, Raniżów, Sędziszów Małopolski, and Świlcza. Kolbuszowa boasts a rich historical and architectural heritage, as well as an active local culture, making it an interesting place both to live in and to visit.
