wikipedia
The Museum of Folk Culture in Kolbuszowa, established in 1959 as the Regional Museum of the Lasowiacy, is an important cultural institution in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, located primarily in Brzezówka. After being nationalized in 1971, the museum focused on the culture of two ethnographic groups: the Lasowiacy and the Rzeszowiacy, which led to a change in its name to the Museum of Folk Culture. The museum's exhibitions include the Open-Air Museum (Park Etnograficzny), founded in 1978, which covers nearly 30 hectares and contains over 80 examples of folk architecture. Among the structures in the park are the Church of St. Mark the Evangelist from Rzochów, windmills, a watermill, and a fire station with an exhibition of firefighting equipment. An interesting fact is that from May 5 to 18, 2015, scenes for the film "Wołyń," directed by Wojciech Smarzowski, were filmed at the museum. The architectural sector of the museum showcases various structures, such as cottages, granaries, and roadside shrines, illustrating the daily life of the region's inhabitants at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The museum also organizes recurring cultural events, such as the Presentations of Folk Creativity of the Lasowiacy and Rzeszowiacy and the Night of Museums, which attract numerous tourists and locals, preserving local traditions and customs.
