The municipality of Koneck, formerly known as the municipality of Straszewo, is located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Aleksandrów County. Its administrative seat is the village of Koneck, and between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the Włocławek Voivodeship. As of June 30, 2004, the municipality had a population of 3,434 and covers an area of 68.13 km², with agricultural land making up the majority (84%), while forests account for 7%. Koneck Municipality boasts a rich architectural heritage, including registered immovable monuments such as the Parish Church of St. Prokop from 1902, a wooden post mill (paltrak) from 1925 in Pomiany, and a wooden Church of St. Martin from 1780 in Straszewo. These sites are important elements of local culture and history, attracting the attention of tourists and researchers.
