wikipedia
St. Procopius Church in Koneck, built in 1902, is a Catholic temple in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, listed in the register of historical monuments. It was constructed as a replacement for a wooden church that burned down in the 19th century. The construction took several years and was initiated by Father Kajetan Książkowski with the help of parishioners and the Sulimierski family. The church was designed in the Vistula Gothic style, made of red and white brick, with a characteristic tower. The interior features a main altar with an image of Our Lady of Częstochowa and two side altars. The history of the church is linked to the tragic events of World War II, when the temple was turned into a grain storage and suffered devastation. After the war, various parish priests undertook efforts to rebuild and renovate the church, including repairs and interior painting. Particularly significant was the tenure of Father Stanisław Adamczyk, who brought in new bells, and Father Piotr Harasym, who organized the painting and renovation of the tower. St. Procopius Church is thus not only a place of religious worship but also a witness to the rich history and culture of the region, as well as a testament to the efforts of the local community in rebuilding after the war's destruction.
