Krasiczyn

Krasiczyn is a rural municipality located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the Przemyśl County, with its seat in the locality of the same name. The municipality covers an area of 127.17 km², of which 31% is agricultural land and 61% is forest land, making it an attractive place in terms of nature. In 2004, the municipality was inhabited by 4,758 people, indicating a small but stable community. In 2010, the municipality lost part of its territory when the village of Kruhel Wielki was incorporated into the city of Przemyśl. The municipality includes many villages, such as Brylińce, Chołowice, Cisowa, and Tarnawce, showcasing local diversity. Architecturally, Krasiczyn stands out with its monuments, including the famous Krasiczyn Castle, which is an example of Renaissance defensive architecture. This castle has a rich history dating back to the 16th century when it was built by the Krasicki family. Interestingly, the castle served as the residence of the Przemyśl bishops, giving the place not only local but also national significance. In the vicinity of the municipality, one can find numerous traces of regional culture and traditions cultivated by the inhabitants, such as folk festivals and local crafts.
