The Kunice Commune, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship within the Legnica County, covers an area of 92.79 km², of which 69% is agricultural land and 17% is forest land. The commune boasts rich natural resources, including Lake Kunickie, which is the main tourist attraction, offering a supervised bathing area and opportunities for water sports. Within the commune, there are three nature reserves: Błyszcz, Ponikwa, and Kunickie Peatland, which protect unique flora and fauna. The area is also rich in tourist trails, including the Cistercian Trail and the trail around Legnica. Architecturally, the churches stand out, such as the one in Spalona with a pulpit from 1584 and a penitential cross from 1607, as well as the church in Grzybiany, dating back to the 15th century, with original frescoes. In Rosochata, visitors can admire 17th-century polychrome, historic tombstones, and an epitaph. The Kunice Commune, with its rural roots, was part of the Legnica Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998, and in 2011 it had a population of 6,021, which by 2020 had grown to 7,098 residents. This region is a blend of rich cultural traditions and history, making the commune an interesting destination for tourists and researchers alike.
