wikipedia
Lipa Castle, situated on the banks of the Mała Nysa River near Bolków, was built at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries, most likely on the initiative of one of the Silesian knightly families as a Gothic-style guardhouse. Originally, it consisted of a square residential tower surrounded by buildings and a dry moat. In the 17th century, the castle underwent a Renaissance-style reconstruction carried out by the Zedlitz family. Later, it came under the rule of the von Reibnitz and von Nimptsch families, during which time it lost its military significance and began to serve as a warehouse and a source of building materials. In 1821, part of the structure was dismantled, and its materials were used to construct farm buildings. In 1834, the castle was purchased by Count Rudolph von Stillfried-Rattonitz, who carried out a Neo-Gothic renovation. Unfortunately, the last major renovation in the 1970s caused irreversible damage to many elements of the structure, including the disappearance of the tower and swallowtail battlements. After nationalization, the castle fell into ruin, and valuable elements such as stone portals and window frames were stolen. Lipa Castle is an important witness to the rich history of the region, and despite its current condition, it continues to attract the attention of those interested in the architecture, history, and culture of Silesia.
