Lubomino is a rural commune in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, located in Lidzbark County. The seat of the commune, the town of Lubomino, has a rich history, with its municipal rights dating back to medieval times. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Olsztyn Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 149.56 km², dominated by agricultural land (72%) and forests (15%). According to demographic data, the population was 3,711 in 2004, which decreased to 3,596 by 2019. The commune consists of 13 village administrative districts, including Biała Wola and Wapnik, as well as several smaller settlements such as Ełdyty Małe and Zajączki. Lubomino is surrounded by the communes of Dobre Miasto, Lidzbark Warmiński, Miłakowo, Orneta, and Świątki, making it a small yet significant part of the region. The architecture of the area is noteworthy, preserving traditional rural landscape elements that combine residential buildings with farm structures. The region is also characterized by rich cultural traditions maintained by its inhabitants. Interestingly, despite its small population, the Lubomino commune plays a significant role in the local economy, primarily through agriculture and forestry.
