wikipedia
Mława, picturesquely situated on the Seracz River, is one of the oldest towns in Masovia, offering a rich history, diverse architecture, and vibrant cultural traditions. The town was granted municipal rights in 1429, and its development was linked to the trade routes that passed through the area. The architecture of Mława is varied; the historic parish church of the Holy Trinity, dating back to the end of the 15th century, testifies to its Gothic roots, while reconstructions in the Baroque and Neo-Baroque styles have given it its contemporary character. Other notable landmarks include the Church of St. Lawrence and the 18th-century town hall, which, despite numerous fires, has retained its administrative significance. Mława boasts numerous cultural institutions, such as the "Kosmos" cinema, the Municipal Cultural Center, and the Museum of the Zawkrze Land. Education in Mława has a long tradition, encompassing primary schools, secondary schools, and a branch campus of a higher education institution. Despite numerous historical challenges, including epidemics and wars, the town developed dynamically, and after World War II, it seized new opportunities for industrialization, attracting investments. An interesting fact is that Mława is known for the fire of 1692, which destroyed a significant part of the town, and the plague epidemic in the 17th century, which greatly affected the population. Today, Mława is a town with a diverse economy, focusing on the electronics and food industries, as well as a rich cultural and sports offering, making it an important regional center.
