Miejska Górka is a town in Greater Poland, within the Rawicz County, boasting a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. First mentioned in 1392, the town went through various stages of development, obtaining its town rights before 1406. Architecturally, Miejska Górka was surrounded by defensive walls, featured a market square with frontage buildings, and was dominated by a castle. Documents from 1424 listed numerous urban elements, such as roads leading to the church and numerous gardens. In the history of Miejska Górka, the Górka family, the town's owners, played a significant role, and later its fortunes became intertwined with various noble families. After the Second Partition of Poland in 1793, the town fell under Prussian rule, which influenced its development in the 19th century. At that time, Miejska Górka had a population of about 1,700, and the local social structure included Catholics, Protestants, and Jews. Modern-day Miejska Górka is characterized by educational activities, represented by schools and kindergartens, as well as sports life with the football club Sparta and the baseball team TSB "Demony," which won bronze medals in the Polish Championships. Additionally, the town has numerous international connections, cooperating with localities such as Turbiv, Dobruška, and Ábrahámhegy. Miejska Górka is intersected by important transport routes, which fosters its development and accessibility.
