Orzysz is an urban-rural municipality located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, within Pisz County, with its administrative seat in the town of Orzysz. Historically, from 1975 to 1998, the municipality belonged to the Suwałki Voivodeship. According to demographic data, in 2008 the municipality was inhabited by 9,518 people, while by the end of 2019 this number had decreased to 8,863 residents. The municipality covers an area of 363.49 km², of which agricultural land constitutes 33% and forested areas 38%. Orzysz Municipality makes up 20.46% of the total area of Pisz County. Within the municipality, one can find interesting architectural references, including traditional Masurian houses and public utility buildings that attest to the region's rich history. Orzysz is situated in a picturesque area, attracting tourists, especially nature lovers and those seeking active recreation.
