Osówiec, a village in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, is part of the Sicienko municipality. The history of the settlement dates back to the Pomeranian culture period, and a significant event in the 15th century was the accusation against the Cistercian abbot of Koronowo for organizing the murder of the village head of Osówiec, highlighting local feudal conflicts. In the 19th century, the village was inhabited by both Catholics and Evangelicals and functioned as an administrative unit with Civil Registry Offices. Osówiec is known for its historical monuments, including the ruins of a 19th-century manor complex, which consists of a manor house, an outbuilding, and a park. The village also features a complex of World War II bunkers associated with the Bydgoszcz Bridgehead, representing an important element of local military history. Traces of former Evangelical cemeteries have also been preserved in the vicinity. From a cultural perspective, Osówiec is a diverse place with remnants of both Catholic and Evangelical traditions. Today, residents attend school in nearby Wojnowo, and a newly built parish church is located in the Osowa Góra area. In terms of tourism, the village offers thematic trails, such as the red trail of the Bydgoszcz Bridgehead Fortifications and the green trail "Painted Fields," which winds through picturesque rural landscapes, attracting nature and history enthusiasts. Surrounded by forests, Osówiec features a manorial park with numerous trees, including rare species. An interesting aspect is the presence of the 22nd Command and Guidance Center, which plays a significant role in national defense. Thus, Osówiec is a place that combines rich history with modernity, attracting tourists, historians, and researchers alike.
