Płoskinia is a rural commune in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, located in Braniewo County. The commune's administrative seat is in the village of Płoskinia. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Elbląg Voivodeship. Demographic data shows that in 2004, Płoskinia had a population of 2,726, which decreased to 2,486 by 2019, making it the least populous commune in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 172.05 km², of which 63% is agricultural land and 27% is forested, highlighting the dominance of agriculture and forests in the local landscape.
