Praszka, an urban-rural commune in the Opole Voivodeship, Olesno County, boasts a rich history dating back to the times of the Wieluń Land. In the past, until 1975, these areas belonged to the Wieluń County in the Łódź Voivodeship. The seat of the commune is the town of Praszka, which serves as an important local center. According to data from 2006, the commune had 13,801 inhabitants, while in 2017 the population was 13,596. The commune covers an area of 102.8 km², of which 66% is agricultural land and 26% is forest land, making Praszka an attractive place to live with rich natural surroundings. The commune consists of numerous village administrations (sołectwa), including Aleksandrów, Brzeziny, Gana, Kowale, Strojec, as well as smaller localities such as Grabówka, Kik, and Marki. In this region, it is worth noting the historical and architectural aspects, such as the typical local building styles and traditions that have developed over the centuries.
