Przedecz is an urban-rural municipality located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within Koło County. Its administrative seat is the town of Przedecz, which between 1975 and 1998 belonged to the Konin Voivodeship. The municipality boasts a rich history dating back to the times of the Kingdom of Poland, when it was part of the Włocławek County in the Warsaw Governorate. In 1870, the town of Przedecz was incorporated into the municipality, having temporarily lost its town rights, and regained its status as an independent town in 1919. Przedecz lies in a picturesque area—the northern part of the municipality is situated in the Kuyavian Lake District, while the southern part is on the Kłodawa Upland, contributing to a varied landscape dominated by farmland and small lakes. Forests cover ten percent of the municipality's area. Transportation in the region is provided by the provincial road No. 269, which connects Przedecz with nearby towns such as Izbica Kujawska and Chodecz. Within the municipality, there is one parish church—the Holy Family Parish, belonging to the Włocławek Diocese, reflecting local religious and cultural traditions. According to data from 2002, the municipality covers an area of 76.52 km², of which 79% is agricultural land and 14% is forested. The municipality constitutes 7.57% of the total area of Koło County. As of the end of June 2006, the population of the municipality was 4,344, illustrating its social structure and demographic size. It borders the municipalities of Babiak, Chodecz, Chodów, Dąbrowice, Izbica Kujawska, and Kłodawa, underscoring its importance as a local center.
