The Kłodawa Deanery, one of the 33 deaneries of the Włocławek Diocese, has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century when it belonged to the Archdiocese of Gniezno. It originally comprised eighteen parishes, many of which boast unique traditions and sacred architecture. In 1818, the deanery was transferred to the Archdiocese of Warsaw, and in 1920, it was reinstated, this time as part of the newly established Łódź Diocese. Throughout the 20th century, the deanery underwent several reorganizations, including its abolition in 1931 and subsequent restoration in 1952 by Bishop Franciszek Korszyński. Today, the deanery includes parishes such as: St. Roch in Barłogi, St. Dominic in Bierzwnienna Długa, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Borysławice Kościelne, St. Nicholas in Dąbie nad Nerem, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kłodawa, St. Rosalia in Pieczew, the Holy Family in Przedecz, and St. Michael the Archangel in Umień. The deanery is overseen by Fr. Prelate Dr. Artur Niemira as dean and Fr. Canon Marcin Filas as vice-dean. Architecturally, the churches within the deanery often reflect local building styles and serve as places of worship that bridge history and modernity, playing a vital role in the life of local communities. Many of these parishes maintain unique traditions and customs, adding a distinctive cultural and spiritual dimension to the region. Interestingly, the parish of Chełmno, which previously belonged to the deanery, was incorporated into the newly established Koło II Deanery in 1994, highlighting the dynamic nature of ecclesiastical administration in this part of Poland.
