wikipedia
Ptaszkowo is a village located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, boasting a rich history dating back to at least the late 13th century. The first recorded mention of the settlement comes from 1298, when it already served as the seat of its own parish. Ptaszkowo was a noble village, associated with the Ptaszkowski, Opaliński, and Koszutski families. Over the centuries, the estate changed hands multiple times, including coming under the ownership of the Żółtowski family in the 18th century. Architecturally, the village is distinguished by a Baroque inn from the late 18th century featuring an arcaded porch, and a Neo-Romanesque church dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, built in 1904. The church houses valuable furnishings, including Baroque sculptures and a late Gothic crucifix. Ptaszkowo also features a manor farm complex with a steward’s house and a cowshed from the early 19th century, a park dating back to the late 19th century, and an old school building from the first half of the 19th century. A notable curiosity is an oak tree with a circumference of 430 cm growing near the church, as well as an exhibition of miniature monuments that was housed in the State Agricultural Farm (PGR) between 1973 and 1993. Ptaszkowo is also a hub for sports – until 1993, the People's Sports Team Orkan was active here, and currently, the People's Sports Association of the Grodzisk Wielkopolski Municipality and the B-class LZS Inter Zdrój play their matches here. The village is situated along National Road 32 and the Wolsztyn–Poznań Główny railway line, ensuring excellent transportation links.
