wikipedia
Radoszyce is a town in Poland, located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, within Końskie County. It serves as the seat of the urban-rural municipality and the parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The town boasts a rich history dating back to before the formation of the Polish state, when the settlement was situated on the border between the tribal territories of the Polans and the Vistulans. Radoszyce gained the status of a royal town of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland, and its history was marked by many significant events, including the Swedish Deluge and the War of the Confederation of Bar. A pivotal moment in the town's history was November 18, 1794, when the Kościuszko Uprising capitulated, and as a result of the Third Partition of Poland, Radoszyce fell under Austrian rule. The town lost its municipal rights in 1863 for supporting the January Uprising, and after World War II, during the Nazi occupation, the Jews of Radoszyce were deported to the Treblinka II extermination camp. Radoszyce regained its town status on January 1, 2018. Architecturally, Radoszyce features the Church of St. Peter and Paul from the first half of the 17th century and a roadside column from 1610. The presence of castle ruins, as well as a parish and Jewish cemetery, attests to the area's rich history. Culturally, Radoszyce is associated with sports, particularly the football club GKS Partyzant Radoszyce, which since its founding in 1947 has achieved various sporting successes, including promotion to the third league in the 2013/2014 season. An interesting fact is that Radoszyce was the site of royal meetings and important political events, such as accessions to various treaties and the granting of privileges by Polish monarchs. With its rich tradition and cultural heritage, the town plays a significant role in the history of Lesser Poland and beyond.
