The municipality of Sędziszów Małopolski, with its seat in the town of Sędziszów, is located in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, within the Ropczyce-Sędziszów County. Its history dates back to 1934, when it was established as a collective municipality in the Ropczyce County. It originally consisted of nine rural communes, and in 1937, a county reorganization affected the municipality's territorial commitments. Between 1954 and 1973, the municipality was abolished and divided into smaller administrative units called gromadas, and its area became part of the newly established Ropczyce County. In 1973, the municipality was reinstated and adopted the name Sędziszów Małopolski, which was officially changed on December 9, 1973. The municipality covers an area of 154.29 km², of which 64% is agricultural land and 26% is forested, making it a significant agricultural region. Demographically, the municipality is characterized by a diverse age structure among its residents, which may influence the nature of social life. Sędziszów Małopolski not only preserves the history of its predecessors but also fosters local culture through its village administrative districts (sołectwas), including Będziemyśl, Boreczek, Czarna Sędziszowska, and Góra Ropczycka. Neighboring municipalities, such as Iwierzyce, Kolbuszowa, and Ropczyce, contribute to the regional cultural and social mosaic, making it an interesting subject for researchers and tourists. It is also worth noting that the municipality is home to local natural and architectural attractions, enhancing its appeal as a destination within the Podkarpacie region.
