Sadowie

Sadowie Commune, located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, in Opatów County, is a rural administrative unit with a rich history dating back to the 19th century. It was established on January 13, 1867, as a result of the administrative reform of the Polish Kingdom. Initially, the commune had 2,083 inhabitants and was part of Opatów County in the Radom Governorate. During the interwar period, it retained its administrative affiliation, and its demographic and territorial structure changed over the years. In 2004, the commune had 4,324 inhabitants, and according to data from 2002, its area was 81.71 km², with agricultural land dominating, covering 86% of the territory. The seat of the commune is the village of Sadowie, and within its boundaries, there are numerous smaller administrative units, such as Biskupice, Bogusławice, and Małoszyce, reflecting a dispersed and numerous rural settlement. Sadowie Commune has unique architectural features, including traditional rural buildings that reflect the regional style and settlement history. It is worth noting the historic buildings, which can serve as interesting points of reference for tourists and researchers of local history. Additionally, local traditions and customs are cultivated in Sadowie and the surrounding villages, contributing to the cultural richness of the region. An interesting fact in the commune's history is that it was abolished in 1954 as a result of the introduction of smaller administrative units called "gromady," but it was reinstated in 1973.
