wikipedia
The Deanery of Szewna is one of the 25 Roman Catholic deaneries in the Diocese of Sandomierz, consisting of eight parishes, including the Parish of St. Sophia and St. Stanislaus Kostka in Bodzechów and the Parish of All Saints in Wszechświęty. This deanery has a long history, but in 2016, as part of a reorganization implemented by Bishop Krzysztof Nitkiewicz, it lost nine parishes to the newly established Deanery of Kunów. As a result of these changes, new parishes were incorporated, among which the Parish of St. Sophia and St. Stanislaus Kostka and the Parish of All Saints in Wszechświęty hold particular cultural and architectural significance. The region is characterized by diverse architectural styles visible in its religious buildings, attracting not only the faithful but also tourists. Interestingly, many of these parishes serve as centers for local communities, organizing various cultural events, festivals, and religious celebrations that bring residents together. Neighboring deaneries, such as Opatów, Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, and Starachowice–Południe, also contribute to the rich history and culture of the region, and their proximity fosters opportunities for the exchange of traditions and joint initiatives. Through its parishes and local traditions, the Deanery of Szewna is an attractive destination from both a religious and cultural perspective.
