Skaryszew is an urban-rural commune in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Radom County, with the town of Skaryszew serving as its administrative seat. Historically, until 1870, the commune was known as Bogusławice and also included the former commune of Skaryszów. From 1975 to 1998, the commune was part of the Radom Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 171.41 km², of which 77% is agricultural land and 17% is forest land, highlighting its agricultural and forested character. According to demographic data, in 2004, the commune was inhabited by 13,159 people, and by the end of 2019, this number had increased to 14,782 residents. The commune includes numerous villages, such as Anielin, Bogusławice, Kazimierówka, and Wilczna, which underscores its socio-cultural diversity.
