The Parish of St. John the Apostle in Nur is a Roman Catholic community located in the Czyżew deanery, within the Łomża diocese of the Białystok metropolitan archdiocese. Its seat is in the village of Nur, on Małkińska Street. The parish encompasses several localities, and among its most important holy sites are the parish church and the filial Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Zaszków. The history of the parish dates back to 1401, when it was established. The modern church, which is an important center of religious worship, was rebuilt between 1948 and 1966, following the destruction of the first brick temple, which had been built in 1870 and was later destroyed in 1944. The current architecture, reflecting a blend of tradition and modernity, preserves many cultural and local decorative elements that mirror the region's history. The parish's appeal is further enhanced by the fact that over the centuries, it has witnessed numerous social and cultural changes, becoming a gathering place for local residents as well as a pilgrimage destination. Interestingly, the church in Nur serves not only a sacred function but also a cultural one, hosting various local events that bring the parish community together.
