wikipedia
The Church of St. John the Baptist in Biała, located in the village of Wola Grzymalina, was built in 1584 thanks to the foundation of Jan Grzymała Wolski. Consecrated in 1594 by Bishop Kraszkowski, it originally belonged to the Łękińska parish. A characteristic feature of the church is its wooden structure in the Wieluń style, with log walls in the nave and presbytery. The church is adorned with Gothic roofs featuring a turret, and its interior is decorated with 16th-century polychromes and richly ornamented altars. In the presbytery, there is a late Renaissance main altar with paintings of St. Stanislaus, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and St. John the Baptist. Additionally, the church houses two late Baroque side altars, a pulpit, and a baptismal font, all richly decorated. Interestingly, the church originally had a chapel with a crypt, built in 1729, which has not survived to this day. Architectural details such as soaring roofs and low carved doors attract attention, while the interior polychromes and figures of saints reflect the region's rich artistic tradition. The church is a valuable cultural heritage site that reflects the history and religiosity of the local community.
