wikipedia
The Church of Saint Lawrence in Mława is a Roman Catholic filial and pre-funeral church, belonging to the Mława deanery of the Płock diocese, located within the parish cemetery grounds. It was built in 1786 thanks to the efforts of the Vincentian priests. During the Napoleonic Wars, between 1807 and 1815, the building served as a storage facility. From 1870 to 1886, religious services were moved to the Holy Trinity Church, indicating changes in the site's use. The church underwent numerous renovations, including a significant one in 1961. Architecturally, the structure represents the late Baroque style. It is masonry-built, plastered, and hall-like, with a rectangular floor plan, featuring side square elements—a porch and a sacristy. The interior is adorned with a wooden ceiling, while the sacristy is characterized by a barrel-vaulted ceiling with cross arches. The nave windows have segmented arches, and the music choir is supported by three arcades. The church is topped with gable roofs covered with tiles. Among the church's furnishings are paintings of saints, including Saint Adalbert and Saint Lawrence, dating from the third quarter of the 18th century, as well as marble epitaphs also dated to the 18th century. Interestingly, despite changing functions and historical turmoil, the church has survived to modern times as a significant element of both the religious and cultural heritage of the region.
