wikipedia
The Church of St. Nicholas in Truskolasy is a historic, Baroque Roman Catholic temple, located in the municipality of Wręczyca Wielka, in the Silesian Voivodeship. It serves as a parish church and a sanctuary of Our Lady of Truskolasy. Built in 1737 from wood using log construction, the church has undergone numerous renovations, including in the 19th century when the towers were lowered and the roof covering was changed. The most extensive restoration took place between 2006 and 2007, during which traditional wood shingles were reinstalled on the roof and walls, and some structural elements were replaced. In 2009, the church received the prestigious "Well-Maintained Monument" award for its comprehensive renovation. Architecturally, the church exudes harmony, featuring gable roofs and a square bell tower. Its interior is distinguished by a false barrel vault. The furnishings, primarily in the late Baroque style, include altars dedicated to, among others, Our Lady of Truskolasy—a miraculous image that has attracted the faithful since the 18th century. The painting of the Virgin Mary, created by Bobrowski of Widawa, is associated with a legend of its miraculous discovery. In addition to its valuable altars, the church houses a 17th-century pulpit and polychromes by Wacław Skomierski, which enhance the interior with additional aesthetic value. The Church of St. Nicholas is not only a place of religious worship but also an important site on the Silesian Voivodeship's wooden architecture trail, reflecting the region's rich history and tradition.
