Wręczyca Wielka is a rural commune in the Silesian Voivodeship, within Kłobuck County, established on January 1, 1973. It features a diverse landscape, including the southern fringes of the Lasy nad Górną Liswartą Landscape Park. The commune covers an area of 148.07 km², with agricultural land (57%) and forests (36%) dominating its terrain. Its administrative seat is the town of Wręczyca Wielka, which is surrounded by neighboring communes such as Częstochowa and Kłobuck. The commune boasts a rich archaeological heritage, with discovered sites dating back to the Stone Age and more extensive excavations from the Bronze Age Lusatian culture. Within the commune, remnants of an early medieval stronghold in Grodzisko have been located, where traces of an 11th-century settlement surrounded by ramparts and a moat were uncovered. Historically, the commune was an industrial center associated with ore mining, evidenced by slag heaps in the villages of Truskolasy and Golce. The commune's structure includes numerous educational institutions, such as the School Complex in Wręczyca Wielka, as well as medical facilities like the Health Center. The cultural hub of the commune is the Municipal Cultural Center, which offers a variety of activities such as dance, music, and visual arts. The center also runs a preventive-educational club and the Public Library.
